This year Tenterfield Writers’ Ink celebrates 20 years of providing support and encouragement for local writers, published, emerging and those who do it for fun. Meeting (usually) on the third Saturday of every month, members of this lively group share their writing, their experiences, their triumphs and their rejections. This is where difficulties are discussed, work is critiqued and (sometimes) problems are solved.
Members are encouraged to bring along a piece of writing to share with others. Writing exercises are set for each meeting, but no points are docked if members choose a different theme or subject, or even if they write nothing at all. The exercises are intended to encourage writers to write, nothing more.
Our aim is to make writing enjoyable and, judging by the peals of laughter emanating from the meeting room, it’s working.
